We try to monitor student's use of their iPads. We will occasionally do spot checks by looking at their history in Safari as well as checking other things.

Students have found a way around this. If they put a link in a Google Document, when they open that link, it opens in Safari, however where ever they browse is not logged in the history.

Is there anyway to fix this?

Chrome is not installed on the iPads. Clearing the history is restricted.

Is this an Apple/Safari issues or a Google/G Suite issue?

Did you ever find a work around/fix?

Wow, that's a weird bug. Hope this gets fixed, and would love updates on this as well.
