Hey all, does anyone know of a way we can get users to add printers in 10.5.
The preference pane is locked but we did have a work around that no longer
works.
They just started using tracking software called Equitrac Office here and
the users are not able to add printers without an Admin account. It installs
EquitracPrinterUtilityX on the root volume of the drive and when you launch
it you can enter the Windows print server and will populate with the printer
names available. All that works until we close the window and it'll ask for
admin credentials.
We only use the AD plug-in without a Mac OD server.
There was a way to modify the 'cups.conf' then use an application to add a
printer, but having to use this software....
