No, I'm not.
Flat packages, sounds OK. Scripts no longer editable files, but editable in the JSS web app - hmm, sure I've heard it's not great. Cloud distribution though, think we should be heading that way.
We have a sizeable repository of PKGs, so it's going to be a long process of conversion, and I don't suppose it's easy to 'roll back' either.
Anyone want to share their experience of committing to this?

I'd like to receive some feedback on this, too. I've been hovering my mouse over the "Migrate" button for some time, but have been reluctant to click until I figure out the potential downsides.

Done this, my scripts and DMGs went over without problems, there where some issues with non-flat pkgs namely Adobe Creative Suite, while Casper Admin zipped it up ok it wasn't usable by Casper Imaging/Remote.
The fix was to zip the file(s) up on the your Mac first then put then into Casper Admin as if they where new, could be a pain if you have lots of them.
You don't really know what works until you try to deploy these items.
Using scripts with the JSS has created no problems and it is easy to edit and create new one

I've also been debating about this and haven't seen any good write ups with Pros / Cons. Like people have mentioned, it seems like the thing to do. Just not sure, since everything is working fine. Don't want to get to a point of breaking something just to have it done.

Thanks @sprattp there. Is that manual flattening of PKGs process…
1) rename the package so it looks like a normal folder
2) zip the folder
3) rename the .ZIP file you get to .PKG
viola a flat package?

The manual process is simple:
From your Mac right click your .pkg file and choose compress
You will end up with a file with "two" extensions e.g. 004_Adobe_CS55_v6_Install.pkg.zip
Drop this into Casper Admin

FWIW, I recently upgraded to v9 & didn't migrate.
Why? Well nothing compelling for me to migrate YET.
We already have a DMZ server & RSYNC all our shares weekly.
But I can see us migrating later this year.
If we could JDS sync weekly + the scripts had some versioning like GitHub.. We'd make the jump. Migrate the packages & move all DP's to JDS.
