Anybody using this product with Casper? We are going to be utilizing this with our Windows based JSS and just wanted to see if anyone else had some feedback.

ExtremeZ-IP is a great product and has great support. I can't stress that
enough!

The software can be expensive but it's been trouble-free and easy to

We are using SMB right now but we get more help desk complaints from the CasperShare folder popping up on desktops every 15 minutes. Also, SMB has been a bit tricky with us.

We are doing everything we can to retire or replace Apple file/print servers with Windows systems running ExtremeZIP. We have deployed ExtremeZIP to hundreds of sites globally and for the most part it has performed brilliantly. The only problem we have experienced was with some virtual Windows 2008 R2 servers locking up after installing ExtremeZIP. We are still working with GroupLogic to get this sorted.

I have only once attempted to create a Casper distribution point on an ExtremeZIP share and it failed. Try as I might I could not get the permissions to take so package delivery failed. However, I should say that I didn't spend much time troubleshooting the problem and instead switched to an OS X Server based distribution point.

During our initial Capser testing we tested along side EZIP and had no issues. I wonder what permissions based issues you were having? We are trying to abandon all Apple Server HW. Can someone give me some NIX Netboot Love please!!!!
