Hi,

Has anyone here migrated from their legacy VPP account to the Apple School Manager? How did the licenses get transferred?

Thanks!

Yes. The VPP account used for purchasing managed app licenses that I had affiliated with deploy.apple.com became a managed Apple ID in Apple School Manager (at school.apple.com) and continued to work the same for managed licenses purchased with that account. I continue to use that account to purchase licenses. No token change was required in Casper.

One issue we had, which Apple is aware of, is that the same account had been used at the portal that allows you to get free VPP licenses for Apple apps (i.e. pages, numbers, iMovie). That account no longer works for the portal so Apple told use to just use a different account but put the actual account name in the notes so they could credit the licenses to the correct VPP account.

The document here has some other notes on Apple School Managed that I took from attending Apple's webinar on the same. It has had a few things added since then crowdsource style by other interested folks.

Brilliant @bcampbell , thank you very much for that.
