iLife 11 not updating in my 10.8.2 image

Huge problem discovered yesterday. I found out my iLife 11 series, is not getting updated on the 10.8.2 image I've created. Specifically iPhoto, it's stuck at 9.3.2. When I attempt to manually update, the updater says 9.1 is required. When I manually try to install the 9.1 updater, it says 9.0 is required. 9.3.2 is working fine but it just won't update. I have about 400 computers with this problem.

I found reinstalling works, but I don't want to push the entire iLife DVD to 400 computers. I just fear I'm bound to have failed installs then corrupted files.

Has anyone had this problem? Any easier fixes or good suggestion of something to try?

How did the iLife 11 apps get installed to your 10.8.2 image in the first place? I'm suspecting they are the Mac App Store versions of these apps, and so cannot be successfully updated with the Apple Software Update updates.

Actually, I used a flattened installer pkg from the iLife 11 DVD.
