Is there a way to keep / store 'Purchasing' history of hardware?

Hi All

Is there a way that once you have provided the 'purchasing' details of hardware that it can stay linked or associated to that serial number of that device? I've noticed that when a laptop is formatted and assigned to a new user or even the old user that the purchasing information must be filled in again. We use this record to store and report on for when laptops are due an upgrade and or when the lease expires, but only recently discovered that the information doesn’t remain when its formatted. Ideas or Thoughts? I’ve attached a screenshot

It is called Inventory Preload. You will find it in Settings Global.
You can download a template from there and then populate the template with your information. It is linked to Serial number so it will follow the device however many times that you remove and redeploy them.
I pull a lot of the information in a csv from our ASM/ABM and then upload it to the Jamf server.

I absolutely agree with the inventory preload!

That said, you could also feed the info back and forth from an inventory system. Jamf Pro is awesome, but it's not exactly designed to maintain historical data. Even something simple like SnipeIT (What we currently use) can sync/maintain this data and update it back and forth with the jamf2snipe project.

Thank you @PaulHazelden and @Chris_Hafner Ive started to create and fill out the preload inventory. For now its only 40 devices so will probably continue to just manage with the preload template but as we grow ill look into this SnipeIT + jamf2snipe project
