Need help with printer driver deployment.

Hello all,

Please forgive me for my lack of knowledge as I am pretty new to the Mac and automation worlds.

I am trying to deploy a printer driver (Xerox Color C60 / Fiery Printer Driver) to 100+ Macbook Pros. The Macbooks are running 10.14 (Mojave).

I'm trying to determine the best way to deploy this driver.

I've been reading this discussion: https://www.jamf.com/jamf-nation/discussions/14783/deploying-the-new-fiery-mac-drivers but it appears to be a bit dated.

Any advice/direction would greatly help.

Thank you.

Take a look at my response in this thread:

It's a complicated task because of the way EFI builds their driver packages. If you have Autopkg setup you can use it to rebuild the package into one you can deploy via Jamf or ARD or whatever you want to use that won't require GUI interaction. Once the driver is installed, you can use the lpadmin command to map the printer using the proper address, PPD file, options, etc, just like any other printer.

Here is another link with more information on rebuilding the installer pkg:
