Anyone deploying Adobe CS4 Design and Final Cut Studio 2 and running into the jobs stalling ? I will use Casper Remote to install Adobe CS4 or Final Cut Studio 2 in a lab of 21 Macs, the logs says its installing but it will never complete. Tried leaving it for a whole day and no luck still stuck at "Installing Adobe CS4 Applications" As for Final Cut Studio 2 my package is 35 GB and pushing that out to a lab of 21 is a nightmare also. Tried pushing these packages to a single Mac in the lab and its seems to work. Currently I have 1 distribution point, could that be the problem ?

Hi Jason,
i push out final cut studio, logic studio and cs4 to all my student macs, i do it at imaging time, my image is around 90GB and it takes 4hrs to image, i am trying out complied configurations atm which should reduce that time by 70%
I would push out final cut and cs4 by casper imaging if i was you, that way its done at imaging time and no one needs waiting after for it to install, i wouldn't use self service as the user will not know how long it will take before hand, at least when imaging its then done

How did you package up Final Cut Studio ? all in 1 package or you splitted it up to many packages ?

I would push FCS as two packages. The first was just the binaries, and the second was the templates and other space intensive stuff. This, however, was an environment where we had a large number of laptops that were running FCS, and a decent number of desktops...
Thanks,
Damien

Could you setup a policy to cache this out to the users, and then use Casper Remote to install the Cached Copy? This would allow the packages to copy down overnight, and then you could install it all at once for the users.
