Very Slow completion of Uploaded PKG/DMGs via the Packaging module

Hey Everybody,

Ever since Jamf Pro 11.5 I have been seeing very long waits for packages to be completed via the GUI, for example, a single DMG that is 19MB in size can take 15 to 60 minutes for the Availability Pending alert to disappear. Is this now the new normal? If so, can't say it's an improvement.

Have the same question. We're on 11.6.1 ...

when I've had this problem, I've found that it helps to select the following:

settings>cloud distribution point>edit <save>

no need to change anything, I've found that it causes a resync of sorts and often will clear the pending warning. hope that helps.

Gave this a whirl on Friday, thought it helped then. But today, no luck.

I submitted a ticket with Jamf and they might be seeing a PI. They are running some things. Worth checking in with your support...

Any news regarding this?

The workaround appears to be:

1. Download a package from your JCDS

2. Then upload a second (any) package

3. This appears to jiggle the database error and your original package will complete its upload

I've got the same issue except mine don't ever seem to make it past 'Availability Pending' (my initial problem one has been like that for several weeks and my most recent attempt over 15 hours). I'm logging a ticket and will let this post know when I get a reply if someone hasn't already updated by then. I did try obi-k's suggestion (thank you) but no luck in my case.

Mixed results for me again. Sent a ticket to Jamf. It doesn't look like the fix is in place for the 11.7 update. They are aware of it and there is a PI.

What I've been doing is deleting and starting over. Package by package.

Let us know what you hear...

Thanks for the reply. Jamf mentioned there were widespread issues from the shutting down of JCDSv1 but said the underlying causes vary from their end.

I found this forum post in the interim and the suggestion via Jamf Support from dthrall seems to have resolved my issue of upload failing altogether (re-authenticating the Cloud Distribution Point and re-enabling Cloud Services Connection). After that I re-tested your suggested download from our JCDS and my test package did upload... still slowly though compared to the previous experience. I've got nothing on the speed issues but pleased to be able to upload packages again, even if they take 30+ minutes!

Seeing this as well. For me, @mschlosser trick seemed to work. Something definitely isn't right though.

I’ve encountered the same issue with pending availability. I submitted a ticket and worked with the support team, who provided the following response:

This is due to a known product issue (PI115918 - JCDS Inventory not always collected after an upload) that can be worked around by uploading another package, which will trigger an inventory update of the packages.

I can confirm that uploading a second package like @obi-k recommended, works. It's a bit annoying though.
