VFuse VM's and ESXi (Model changing upon upload or clone!)

So I've made my VFuse image and have both the vmx and vmdk. When I try to upload the VM to the ESXi server via Fusion (upload to server) upon launching the VM the model is changed back to VmWare1,1. How do I get my VFuse images successfully uploaded to my ESXi server without the models changing?

Giving this one more. Someone out there has figured out how to get VFuse and Vsphere/ESXi to behave I'm sure!

Not that I have any personal experience with trying to force a Mac model # on VM on ESXi (yet)... What version of ESXi are you running? 6.7 might give you more options. Have you tried ssh'ing into your ESXi server and tweaking the model ID after uploading the VM from Fusion?
