We're trying to restrict apps like mackeeper and idoctor from machines and I'm wondering if there are other common apps or programs we should restrict. So far I have

MacKeeper
iDoctor
Wireshark

We don't make any users admins and we don't allow students to install Chrome extensions that aren't approved. We also restrict which folders staff and students can launch apps from via config profile white/black folder list restrictions.

The only thing in our restricted software list is app store and that's as a secondary measure to the config profile that also blocks it.

See this thread from a few years ago. Still mostly applicable. My list hasn't changed much over the last few years. I did recently add iDoctor and another variant of Advanced Mac Cleaner.
