But unfortunately it doesn't work

What your screenshot shows is a Recovery Lock Password and nothing to do with Activation Lock. The recovery lock password prevents access to the Options menu containing the disk utilities and Reinstall OS Utilities.
Having said the above, I too am having problems getting the activation lock codes to work once a person turns on find my mac on a DEP prestaged Apple Mac.
