NetSUS and Jamf MDM on Big Sur not working

macOS Big Sur 11.0.1. Non-M1 chip laptop.

I updated NetSUS and found out Big Sur laptop is not able to update any more.

I ran 'sudo softwareupate -l', and showed error below.

Finding available software
Scan finished with error: Error Domain=NSURLErrorDomain Code=-1012 "(null)" UserInfo={NSErrorFailingURLStringKey=https://sus.mydomain.org/content/catalogs/others/index-10.16-10.15-10.14-10.13-10.12-10.11-10.10-10.9-mountainlion-lion-snowleopard-leopard.merged-1_ITTest.sucatalog, NSErrorFailingURLKey=https://sus.mydomain.org/content/catalogs/others/index-10.16-10.15-10.14-10.13-10.12-10.11-10.10-10.9-mountainlion-lion-snowleopard-leopard.merged-1_ITTest.sucatalog, SUErrorUpdateServerName=sus.mydomain.org, NSLocalizedRecoverySuggestion=Check to make sure your network connection is operating normally. If there are no issues with your connection, contact your network administrator for assistance., SUErrorRelatedCode=Unknown}
The operation couldn’t be completed. (NSURLErrorDomain error -1012.)

But when I browsered the same URL https://sus.mydomain.org/content/catalogs/others/index-10.16-10.15-10.14-10.13-10.12-10.11-10.10-10.9-mountainlion-lion-snowleopard-leopard.merged-1_ITTest.sucatalog, it still can populate the updates from apple.

Is anyone aware of this issue?

Also Jamf mdm is not working any more.

test@testdeMacBook-Pro ~ % sudo jamf mdm

The mdm verb is not available on this version of macOS.

@Dalmatian I think the possibility of using a different URL for SUS catalogs was deprecated since Catalina or even earlier (although still working up to that version), there was a notice it was not going to work in "future OS releases"
I have not had the chance to update our NetSUS but I would assume with Big Sur is game over and we have to use Apple server with the only option to defer the updates (if Mac are managed with MDM)

I believe this is the case with Big Sur

Thats the case, according to macadmins slack too. MDM Managed Machines still can be feeded with

softwareupdate --ignore "macOS Big Sur"
