i have a recurring daily checkin recon policy. however i keep getting these connection failures daily on various macs:
Connection failure: "The request timed out."
Error running script: return code was 1.
Connection failure: "The Internet connection appears to be offline."
Error running script: return code was 1.
please any assistance is appreciated.

Do you have check for software updates in your inventory collection?
I ended up in the end just having my script exit 0 as it was only one or 2 macs a day.
