Syncing Apps from Apple Business Manager to Jamf Pro/Now

Syncing apps from Apple Business Manager (ABM) to Volume Purchasing in Jamf Pro/Now:

Part 1: Download Server Token from Apple Business Manager

Log in to Apple Business Manager: Go to https://www.apple.com/business/.

Access Preferences: Click your account name in the bottom left corner and select "Preferences."

Download Server Token:Click on "Payments and Billing."

Under the "Apps and Books" tab, click "Download" next to the appropriate server location (ensure it matches your Jamf server region).

The token downloads to your computer's Downloads folder (usually named something like "com.apple.vpp.itunescontent.serverlocationtoken").

Part 2: Configure Volume Purchasing in Jamf Pro/Now

Open Jamf Pro/Now: Launch the Jamf Pro/Now application.

Go to Settings: Click on "Settings" in the sidebar menu.

Access Volume Purchasing:In Jamf Pro: Under the "Global" section, click "Volume Purchasing."

In Jamf Now: Click on "Volume Purchasing" directly.

Add a New Location (Jamf Pro only):If this is your first time setting up Volume Purchasing, click "New."

Enter a descriptive name for the location (e.g., "ABM Apps"). This name is for reference only.

Upload Downloaded Token:Click on a location (New one in Jamf Pro or the existing one).

Click "Edit" (Jamf Pro) or the pencil icon (Jamf Now).

Click "Renew Server Token" (Jamf Pro) or "Upload Server Token" (Jamf Now).

Browse and select the server token downloaded from ABM in step 1.

Save Changes: Click "Save" (Jamf Pro) or "Save Changes" (Jamf Now) to complete the configuration.

Additional Notes:

The server token expires after a year. Repeat steps 1-3 in ABM to download a new token when needed.

Jamf will automatically sync apps from ABM to Volume Purchasing based on your configuration.

it is a free application Power Apps on the App Store (apple.com) that I am trying to deploy using "Mobile Device Apps". The VPP codes tab in the app says content not available to assign to mobile device. May be because it is a free application. free.jpgfree 2.pngfre 2.png
