Active Users Display

The Jamf Pro navigation header now displays all logged-in users, providing administrators with a comprehensive view of active users in their instance. Up to five active users are displayed at a time, each represented by a circular avatar with the user's initials. You can also hover over a user to see their active session duration. The display refreshes every 30 seconds to keep the view current.

Note:

  • Administrators with full privileges can view all active users, regardless of site.
  • Site administrators can only view active users in their assigned site.
  • Administrators with custom privileges require Read access to the Users privilege to view active users.
  • If an administrator has multiple sessions open simultaneously, only the oldest session is displayed.
  • Active users are not displayed when accessing Jamf Pro via a mobile device.

The above is from the beta release notes, however I’ve not been able to see it, I’ve tried multiple accounts, on our beta instance, but nothing, I’m not finding this feature working at all.

Hey @wakco11,

That feature is defaulted off, but if you want it enabled, just submit a support ticket and request the “com.jamfsoftware.jss.featureflags.activeusers.enabled” feature flag get enabled in your instance. That’ll get you in the right spot.

Thanks for checking this out!

Thanks, I'll do that now, it is a question our cyber-security team, and my bosses have asked about in the past, so it’ll be nice to have something to point to for a change once released.

Done, they have enabled it, looks ok, I admit from the description provided I was expecting hollow circles (i.e. border only), with initials, but solid colours works. Personally, I think what I was expecting might look better, but really, I’m just happy with being able to see who else is logged into the portal. Thank you very much for this feature.
