To execute this transformation, we need people who lead our product squads to set, prioritize, and evaluate the work generated by the squad to ensure success and value to our users. The Product Owner, Senior Manager, Mac will take end-to-end ownership of squad goals, set the product roadmap(s), and drive value realization by translating the voice of the customer into capabilities or product features, servicing and support. The Mac squad manages the hardware, OS, and core system applications for all Macs at BCG, which is rapidly increasing penetration of Mac devices across the organization.
Among your responsibilities, you will:
Deliver business results and customer value
Ensure that the team is delivering a continuously improving customer experience, bringing innovative new approaches to product delivery and creating customer value
Track product performance to inform future work
Deliver on specific and measurable KPIs to be defined for your Squad
Manage relevant product budget process and support the Tribe Lead in engaging with the funding process
Partner with respective teams to advise on branding, communications and change management activities for the portfolio
Work with legal and risk management to proactively address issues associated with confidentiality and data privacy
Serve as the voice of the customer or end-user
Translate the voice and needs of customers into strong, well-developed, refined user stories
Engage in continuous discovery (e.g., via surveys & interviews) to understand customer needs
Leverage empirical and qualitative data to assess feature performance and inform prioritization
Determine tradeoffs involving customer value, cost, and speed to execution
Represent customer needs to ensure they are understood and integrated into the Squad’s work
Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders for direction and visioning
Effectively manage stakeholders' and users’ expectations while building credibility through a strong business sense and balancing of priorities
Oversee what is delivered by the Squad and when
Prioritize work through a well-organized backlog of user stories and clearly communicate what needs to be done and by when
Define and clearly communicate acceptance criteria for outcomes based on business & customer needs
Support and enable the Squad to get its work done
Regularly engage with the Squad to offer feedback on work-in-progress and clarify requirements
Work with the squad to identify MVP solutions that maximize delivery efficiency
Support and drive product excellence through iterative product refinement and innovation
Engage with Chapter Leads regarding resourcing and functional expertise required
Provide feedback as part of performance management of Squad members and other members of the Tribe
Set an overall vision to direct and inform the Squad’s work
Work closely with the Tribe Lead to understand and drive alignment on the Tribe’s business strategy, goals, and objectives
Translate Tribe objectives into a clear vision (e.g., via KPIs, initiatives, epics) for your Squad to inform the creation and prioritization of the Squad's backlog of work
Share information about the Squad’s output and priorities with other Product Owners to ensure alignment across the organization
Enable the organization’s new way of working
Model behaviors supporting the organization’s transformation to a new way of working
Lead the squad and tribe along the agile maturity journey through insight, feedback, and experimentation in team processes and dynamics
Actively create and maintain a Squad culture based on the organization and Agile behaviors
Provide informal and formal feedback within context of larger performance management system

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
Undergraduate degree required, advanced degree a plus
Total 7+ years’ relevant experience as a Product Owner, including globally distributed teams and digital products. Experience as Scrum Master or Agile Coach/Mentor a plus
Agile Certifications, preferably Scrum.org (Professional Scrum Product Owner) or Scrum Alliance (Certified Product Owner) preferred
Strong understanding of agile principles and ways of working
Proven experience leading agile-led product teams in a complex, global, matrixed organization
Passionate about Macs and their capability to drive productivity and a great user experience to employees across the company
Vendor relationship management experience a plus
Experience collaborating with product owners, business analysts, designers, developers, QA, and other non-agile aligned stakeholders
Strong understanding of technology enabled business, digital and organizational transformations, delivering enterprise IT and Digital projects
Divergent thinker who can converge ideas into tangible products
Entrepreneurial drive and ability to achieve goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment
Exceptional oral/written communications, presentation development & stakeholder management skills
Experience with data science, machine learning or complex data analytics supporting product management a plus
Experience in consulting industry is a plus
YOU'LL WORK WITH
Every member of your squad, for which you will be its servant leader
Internal customers and stakeholders, translating their voice and needs into user stories and engaging users as needed
Tribe Leaders, who will set the vision, roadmap, budget, and priorities & OKRs for the tribes and subsequently, for the squads
Scrum Masters, which will act as your right hand to remove impediments and will assist you in dealing with the different artifacts and ceremonies
Other Product Owners within BCG, to share best practices and ensure alignment between squads and a culture
Agile Coaches, with whom you will share passion about Agile ways of working and with whom you will shape and promote business agility (within your teams and in the whole company)
