Hello everyone!

I am looking for an easy policy to remove avast.. Thinking if someone has already scripted this out or figured out how to run avasts app without user interaction. The goal is to, remove avast before installing symantec and in the end, set a policy to remove avast if Symantec is installed for those that may be missed somehow.

Thinking I can get my own script figured out, but wanted to see if others have already figured this one out.

Thanks!

Found my own answer it seems.

/Volumes/Avast Mac Security/com.avast.uninstall.app/Contents/Resources/uninstall.sh

Looks like it does a nice uninstall...

Could you post the script you used?

@shaggard Just did this, and the file path to the uninstall script has been updated since 2017. We didn't even need to write a script... We built a policy with the "Files and Processes" payload, and executed the command: /Applications/Avast.app/Contents/Backend/utils/com.avast.uninstall.app/Contents/Resources/uninstall.sh
