I was looking for a solution to deal with disabling wireless when an ethernet cable is in place and re-enabling it when the cable is remove. After looking at various scripts and other solution this application was found.

BridgeChecker

Thanks for posting this! This solution looks like it might work in our environment where teachers dock their macbook and get backed up on the wired Time Machine vlan. If they forget to disable wireless things occasionally get funky.

It's disappointing to see there isn't a trial version for Macs. I'd be interested to test it out in our environment.

Couldn't you write a script that upon detection of connection on Ethernet disables WiFi?

That was my thought. That's how I handle this, with a script and LaunchDaemon. You can check out this old post for info:

And I have the script and launchd in my GitHub: https://github.com/stevewood-tx/CasperScripts-Public

Emily,

There is a trial you just have to ask them, for some reason it is not on the webpage. Steve, I looked at the script and I will see what it does for me. It is always good to have more than one option.
