Hello everyone,


We want to put the shortcut for screen recording in the notification center on our managed iPads. It works on some, but you can't customize the Notification Center on most of them. They all have the same profile with the same restrictions, but I can't find an option to allow the customization of the Notification Center. The iPads are all personalized and not shared iPads.


I've done some research, and currently, there seems to be no way to manage the control center settings with Jamf School.


Is there another way to enable screen recording for our students without a third-party app? If not, can you recommend a free & easy screen recording app without the need to log in or register?

iOS 18 has a issue with Homescreen deployment, If you are sending down a custom homescreen then you will not be able to customize the notification center to add screen recording I have a ticket open of Apple about this but unless more people open tickets I don't think this will be fixed

I brought this up in a support ticket with Jamf.  It looks like this is now more of a feature than a bug as per the following support article from Apple:


Use Shared iPad with Managed Apple IDs


As per the article it says that items cannot be added or removed from Control Center with Shared iPads.


Hopefully Apple addresses this in a future version.

Thanks for the reminder.  I'll put in some product feedback to Apple at https://www.apple.com/feedback/.

Maybe I missed something somewhere, but I didn't think Jamf School has the capability to edit the Notification Center. I don't see the option in any Profile setting to allow editing any of the Notification Center icons or settings. Again, maybe I'm missing something.

In the meantime, Is there any workaround with a third-party app? There are hundreds of them, most of them Freemium. I don't need video editing capabilities; I need a pure screen recording in the media library.

I can Google several apps that claim to do what you ask.  I haven't tried out any.
