I wanted to post that we have print issues after updating to OS X 10.6.8.
Specifically Xerox docucolor 252’s with an external Fiery Rip.
When you print, it will place the print que on Hold.
Other sites are reporting the issue as well.

We have Sharp copiers with external Fiery RIPs, and I have not experienced
any problems since updating to 10.6.8.

+12We are seeing the same issues with our Fierys.
I found a fix online that seems to be working on our 3 test machines.
In a nutshell it says to roll back 4 files in usr/libexec/cups/backend
Files are:
socket
dnssd
lpd
ipp
The copies I used are from a 10.6.7 machine.
