At JNUC I seem to recall a mention that the 9.0 beta would be released in November. Is it possible to get a firm date on release?

We are still working towards a beta in November, still 13 days left in the month! :)

Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to getting the first beta out.

What are some of the new features in the 9.0 release? We have not upgraded for a while.

@technicholas, Casper Suite 9.0 was only previewed at the JNUC. Its not out yet. We'll probably see it in Q1 or Q2 of 2013.
As for new feature,s there are plenty of awesome new things coming, but for descriptions of a couple of them, check this page-

Once the video from the JNUC is posted, you'll get to see more of what will be new.

So, just wondering when we might see some news on the beta. November 2012's about to be a thing of the past.

waiting or is it nagging? maybe unlike Apple, Mozilla, Chrome etc, JAMF are trying to release a piece of software that does not need an update 3 days later.
Patience is going the way of common sense these days I think less and less.

Patience is important, but settings expectations is absolutely important.

Think about it...when Apple said iTunes would be delayed another month, I know a lot of people that complained of being let down. Seriously...over a slightly delayed piece of software, which works fine in its current version and is free!

Emotions have the tendency of overriding logic. Something to keep in mind.

  1. I do not mind waiting, I would just like an update.
  2. @nessts: Your statement is valid, if we were talking about a full release. The whole point of this thread was talking about the Beta. You expect issues and updates on a weekly basis when an application is in that state. Please don't make a judgement call on the state of our "patience" when people are simply asking for what was promised to them at JNUC. It is not unreasonable to expect an update about the situation, which is why you can see I started this thread in the first place. Trolling in a thread about a beta release is just silly.

Any idea how long Beta test applications should take to approve? It just says check back later :)

Depends on who at Jamf you've bought beer for.

@lucid772- Give it about 2 or so days. They're busy elves at JAMF. They'll get to your request. :)
