Apple has moved the accounts settings to Mail and this creates a minor issue as we previously had blocked the built in Mail app so that the only e-mail clients are Outlook/Gmail and now just to be able to sync contacts, calendar etc to the phones built in phone and calendar apps we have to make it visible again just to be able to handle various e-mail accounts.
Is there a way to block the Mail app without blocking the accounts settings?

+23I was annoyed about this move. It's one of those changes that didn't need to be made, so now I have to rewrite my articles on how to setup accounts in Apple's Mail, Calendar, Contacts, Reminders, and Notes apps. @NM-Sasha I'm curious. What motivates you to want to block the built-in native apps? I prefer to let users setup and use the apps that they feel most comfortable with. I personally do not like Outlook for iOS, or Outlook for Mac, so I refuse to use them. Jamf Pro 10.24 is supposed to support iOS 14, so my assumption would be that Jamf updated the ability to block apps in iOS 14. I was about to upgrade all 8 of my Jamf Pro servers this morning until I read the announcement about a product issue 😡

We decided to remove the built in iOS Mail app for several reasons,
updates are not sent independently of the OS which potentially leaves a lot of security vulnerabilities and bugs open until entire phone gets updated. App updates are always easier and faster.
We once had a very annoying bug with unrecognizable Chinese letters caused by the standard Outlook signature which only affected the iOS Mail app because it couldn't encode it correctly or something, was solved by removing or changing the standard signature in Outlook but took a while to discover.
If you are on G Suite or O365 you get much better user experience, integrated features and security updates etc.. also you have better support and one way to troubleshoot or educate users with internal documentation/articles how to use the apps and services.
I personally don't like Outlook either (can't manage categories in the app crazy) whether on iOS/Android or the actual desktop app which is a constant source of support tickets, always use webmail or official app on phones. Gmail rules easy, fast and reliable.
Hope you get your servers updated, I´ll probably have to unblock Mail for now it seems.
