ACTC Certification

I took ACSP a few months ago, I asked and was told the only online certs are ACA:

I'm studying for ACTC, hoping to take (and pass!) in the Spring.

I will probably start with my ACA just because my employer reimburses me for any certifications I acquire. Good luck on your ACTC, a hefty price for that certification with it being $500.

You have to take it at an AATC. My employer is one (I'm an Apple Certified Trainer for 101 and 201).

BTW, don't forget the Amsys ReviseIT study prep app. Not the same questions as the exam, but same format and similar. If you do well on that, you'll do well on the exams.

Study the review questions at the end of each chapter of the Support Essentials and Server Essentials books. The questions are derived from the "after reading this section, you should know..." section...

Just a thought I had about the ACTC, isn't it kind of unnecessary to get the ACTC for 10.9 when 10.10 is so close? I was thinking about getting it myself.

Well that is true @makander totally slipped my mind that 10.10 is just around the corner. I already took both ACA's last night and passed, guess I will have to retake them when 10.10 is out, at least my employer is paying for them :)

Then again, it takes some time for the course material for a new OS to be produced so it'll probably take a couple of months before it's available.

You might see the books end of year. You won't see the class courseware until January February timeframe. At least, that's been the timeline for Mountain Lion and Mavericks...

still depressed that Apple killed the ACSA exam back in 10.6 and have been boycotting the Apple certs since then. Sighs...they do have one at the Ball State University and their Indianapolis Center but you wouldn't know it...they only teach certain courses on rare occasions. Contact (765) 285-4729 and ask for more details. They don't teach IT certs there, but they teach classes on Final Cut and such. As an AATC though, they ARE required to offer any cert test, even if they don't teach the class. Bell TechLogix (317)704-6000and V2 Consulting (415) 989-9889 also offer Apple Training for something and are required to offer all Apple Certification exams there.

good luck, try calling those folks and asking to take an Apple Cert test. According to Apple, they are required to offer the test for any Apple certification, even if they do not teach that at that particular training center.

On a side note, ACMT no longer expires, as stated in GSX:

Once you are ACMT certified, you remain certified. No recertification is required.
