Hi

I wondered if there was an easy way of adding existing computers to departments or groups easily?

For Example

We have 30-40 machines in our Sydney Office

250 in our London Office

40 in Hong Kong office

Is there a way that (perhaps using the quickadd package) will allow me to assign all machines in specific offices to the relevant group in the JSS?

Yes that will put everything in those subnet ranges on that network segment. You can then next put that network segment in a smart group or use it to scope policy.

You can create network segments and buildings in the JSS and the machines will auto populate these groups next time they check in.

Thanks Tom,

I have 3 dhcp scopes in one office

e.g

192.168.33.60 - 192.168.33.254
192.168.34.1 - 192.168.34.254
192.168.35.1 - 192.35.254

Is there a way I can add the as one network segment?

What i've done is the following in the JSS

starting ip: 192.168.34.1
ending ip : 192.168.35.254

do you know if this will cover the above scopes?

You can further take that subnet range and assign it to a building, like London Branch, or whatever.
