Y'all may recall that I posted to the list a few months ago about Casper not
logging in during imaging time to install CS4. Well, I opened a support
ticket and JAMF was able to determine there was a bug in 10.6 that was
preventing the auto login to happen.

Well, JAMF contacted me yesterday with a workaround as a temporary fix until
7.3 comes out. The attached PKG file can be added to your configurations to
fix the issue. I added it with a priority of 2 just to make sure it ran
high enough up in the process, and it worked like a charm.

Hi Steve,

I asked our Depo guys (the guys who image for us) and they're having to log in manually when imaging 10.6 workstations too. I searched through the archives but didn't see your previous post about this. Just wanted to confirm, does it matter what version of Mac OS X Server or JSS you're running? If not, I'm happy to test and shout back with confirmation that it works with 10.5.8 server and 7.1 JSS.

Thanks,
Don

As far as I've been told, it has nothing to do with server version or JSS

version. This is a bug in 10.6. Apple stopped creating a directory path
that Casper relied on to make the auto login hooks for the Adobe Temp user. I did confirm that Apple fixed the issue in the latest Drop In Box DVDs
that come with the i5/i7 MacBook Pro machines, as I didn't have the issue
with those.

JAMF gave me the PKG file that I sent, which simply creates the missing
directory structure as a work around until 7.3 is released.
