Hey folks...

I'm sick of always having to switch over to my Windows VDI in order to browse and edit objects in Active Directory

Does anyone have any recommendations on a Mac app that will help out?

Thanks!

I've never found anything even close and I don't think you will either. I have used an ldap browser (lots of them out there) to look around once in a while, but never anything to edit. I usually keep an old PC under mydesk and RDP into it when I need ADUC.

We use AD HelpDesk for password resets and various things. The iOS version is much more robust though then the Mac App.

At a previous job they had used a plug-in that tied into AD which allowed for management via a web browser. I believe it was called Quest Active Roles. Looks like they've been bought by Dell.

I like Apache Directory Studio.

You might take a look at Manage Engine's suite of tools:

Manage Engine

I use the free version of AD Manager Plus for pulling reports and such. I do not use it for creating/modifying objects. I do all of that through RDC to my DC.

The free version of AD Manager Plus limits you to 100 objects at a time, but for me that is all I need typically.
