Hi everyone,

I'm currently facing an issue with AnyDesk deployed via Jamf across our Mac fleet. Initially, I set up an installation policy and a configuration profile for all Macs and users, and everything was working smoothly.

However, I've noticed that whenever I add a new PC to AnyDesk and attempt to connect remotely to a Mac, I receive an "Access Denied" message. I understand this isn't the official AnyDesk forum, but I’m hoping someone here might have encountered a similar situation.

I’m considering removing and redeploying the configuration profile to see if that resolves the issue—but I’m not entirely sure how to go about it. Would changing the scope to "specific computers" and "specific users" be enough? Could that potentially cause other problems?

If anyone has suggestions or has dealt with something similar, I’d really appreciate your input.

Thanks in advance for your help!

This sounds like it would be a permissions issue within the AnyDesk console. If something was wrong with the Configuration Profile (screen sharing permissions, full disk access permissions, etc) macOS would prompt the user to grant the access, and even if the user rejected the access, you would never see any form of access denied message within AnyDesk. At most you would see an insufficient permissions message as macOS does not tell AnyDesk the user rejected the permissions request.

I’m not very familiar with AnyDesk, but from my experiences with other remote access tools, start with permissions. Make sure you have the correct permissions to remotely access the macOS clients within AnyDesk.

As far as reinstalling a Configuration Profile, just modify the scope excluding the devices you want to remove the Profile from and save it; wait a few minutes then readd the devices and it will redeploy the profile. You can do this by removing devices from the Scope, or simply adding devices you want to troubleshoot to the Exemption saving then removing them from the Exemption.

Hey thanks @AJPinto !

Regarding the reinstallation of the configuration profile: yes, my goal is simply to remove it from all Macs and then re-add it to the same devices. That’s why I was asking about temporarily changing the scope to specific computers, and then switching it back to “all computers” after a few changes.

As for AnyDesk, the permissions are working fine on the existing machines—we’re able to connect remotely without issues using certain devices. The problem is with the new Macs where AnyDesk has just been installed. That’s where we’re getting the “access denied” message. This is why I was thinking that removing and reinstalling the configuration profile might help resolve the issue.

This stuff can get really confusing sometimes!
