Apple App Uninstalled when "Remove app when MDM profile is removed" was checked

Some bizarre issue happened to all of our managed iPads a few days ago. Originally we deployed an app via the self service web-clip and had the following options checked:

- Deploy as managed app (when possible)
- Remove app when MDM profile is removed

Everything was working fine up until I went back in to the app options and unchecked "Remove app when MDM profile is removed". The app dissapeared from all of our "managed" iPads. The enrollment profile and configuration profiles have not been removed from the iPads.

My question is, why would this cause an uninstall of the app on all of my devices?

We are running JSS CasperSuite 8.61.

    Which app was it that uninstalled? Are there any restrictions set up on the device either via Casper or by Configurator?

    The app was iMovie and I supplied VPP codes with it as well through Casper. Yes, there are restrictions set up with a configuration profile in Casper. Are there any certain restrictions that you are looking for?
