Anyone know what the appProtd process is? It's seen in activity monitor but nowhere else. I can't find a file anywhere and google returns one result (some guy's twitter page).

This process is pegging someone's system pretty hard. Not sure whether it's safe to kill it or not. Activity monitor say's its parent process is launchd.

Any insight?

Open activity monitor, select the process and look at open files and
ports and it should link to what the launchd item is for.

Did you sample it and check the path when you were in Activity Monitor?
