We currently assign apps to device groups so students do not need an Apple ID to install their apps from Self Service. Is it possible to assign an app to a User Group and still avoid needing an Apple ID?
I tried to assign a VPP app to a user group and the app did not show up under Self Service.

+11As long as the app is set to be device-assigned, it doesn't matter how you scope it. We use both mobile device and user groups to assign our apps.
