We have a Mac mini in production which only functions as a netboot server. Can it also function as a JDS? I am assuming yes because the documentation does not say its a problem but was wondering if anyone had any experience doing this.

We are running our JSS on a Windows Server and it is the Master DP. The first (root) JDS can then be used as an alternate DP as needed, correct, or we can make it the Master?

When I went to install it, it wanted me to supply a name for the JDS, but I was going to use it off my main server and DP's...
+9Not sure why you would name it something other than the server's existing hostname or IP. The name for the JDS is how it will appear in the JSS and the Casper apps. All configuration regarding master DP and replication hierarchy happens in the JSS after the JDS is enrolled. You'll find it under "Gear Icon" -> Computer Management -> JDS
Also, once enrolled, the JDS will show up as No Name for about 5 minutes while trust is established. I would wait until the correct hostname shows up in the JSS before configuring it further.
