Hello,
Is there a thread, FAQ, etc where all the issues with upgrading to v9 are listed so I can make an informed decision on whether to upgrade?
Thanks.

No one thread or FAQ that I know of, but you may want to start by looking at Andrew Caldwell's (aka acdesigntech) threads. He started posting all his issues experienced in a test upgrade, each in a separate thread. Many of us have experienced the loss of all MCX settings after the upgrade. This is due to a now known defect related to even one existing MCX that uses a custom setting, like array, causing the entire MCX table to get dropped.

And that's only one issue.

Smart Groups don't always get translated over properly. In our case, any Smart Group that used an Extension Attribute value didn't get carried over completely, as in, the EA value was no longer assigned in the SG. Others have seen this too. I haven't been able to confirm it, but others have reported a change in the Smart Group logic causing machines to now fall into groups they shouldn't be in.

I suggest looking at all the threads and making your own decision, but if you want my opinion, wait this release out a bit. JAMF has some work cut out to correct all the upgrade bugs. We're getting word on a point release 'coming soon' that should address at least some of the problems.

I'll keep an eye on the forums over the next few weeks and see what shakes out. I just don;'t want to miss something important.
Thanks.

I agree it'd be nice to know about known issues.

There's a feature request for something similar here - vote it up, comment on it, etc.

Casper 9 broke LDAP for us. Jamf confirmed it was a bug to be fixed in the next release.

I'm just going to do what I do with pretty much any major upgrade/release; wait for a revision or two for the big bugs to get shaken out before considering it. I don't really have the time or the resources for a test lab, unfortunately.
