This is very simple to do - took about two minutes to complete and works like a charm. It was was posted on AFP548 a while back:

The Article does no longer exisit on the afp548.com Domain.

I am currently running a 10.6.8 Server with Casper 8.7 but still have Issues to get SUS to download and provide Updates to Clients running Mountain Lion.

Any suggestions?!

I had issues with SUS on a 10.8 server.

I followed this https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4026496?tstart=0 and now have updates for all my 10.7-10.8 clients from a 10.6.8 SUS.
