+22I've followed the whitepage on the JAMF site for setting up CrashPlan, works great. Except I was wondering if anyone has figured out a way to get machines to auto-register and begin that initial backup without the user being forced to login to CrashPlan for the first time.
We're pushing out a few hundred machines this next school year and I figured I could automate this all somehow with casper.
+13So the process is completely backwards. But yes it is possible.
Go here first and follow the instructions for creating a custom package.

- You will want to set the password field to ${deferred}
Once the package is created, take the entire custom folder and move it into /Library/Application Support/CrashPlan/
Build a package which only copies the custom folder in the Library. Set the package to install first before installing CrashPlan.
+22So I've done that but it doesn't appear to register with the CrashPlan server unless I open up the CrashPlan application.
