I'm thinking you're going to need to create a traditional package for this software, but with this application we were able to break out the application pieces we wanted to without breaking the while thing. So if they really only needed Photoshop you had a CS2 Required package, and then individual packages of the applications. Deploy the required and then the apps you wanted so you can save space.

CS2 is a distant memory here already so hopefully I'm recalling properly. I know I still have my old packages archived somewhere. =)

Could I use composer and do snap shots?

My CS2 package was a snapshot of the whole suite after running and and
making sure all apps were serialized. The version of Acrobat that comes
with CS2 won't run properly on its own. You have to launch another app in
the suite (such as Photoshop) in order for Acrobat to "know" that its been
serialized.

The problem with the CS3 install is that the licensing file is now hidden
away and building separate installers for each component will probably
overwrite the last license file. If you use Composer to build one big
installer of all the apps, you should be fine.

In our pre-JSS Server use of Composer, we did build separate installers for
the three main CS3 apps (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) for both Intel
and PPC, so it can be done, but it took awhile to figure out what files to
remove and what permissions to apply from each installer.

I am building the package now and not doing the disk images. So, when I make the package can I go back and dump everything that is put in /Library into like an adobe required then put out each CS 2 app as a separate install? I can't recall how I did that before, but the JAMF guys showed me how to do that with iLife last year.

I can just drag them out in editable mode in Composer and create separate DMG files for them, correct?

I would suggest doing a full install or the Adobe suite, make sure
everything is serialized and functioning and then use the prebuilts in
Composer to generate your packages.
You may also want to look into the fix for the Acrobat self-repair function
if your users will not be admins (I most strenuously suggest that they not
be admins, I consider this a best practice). I don't recall what the fix
was off hand, but there is one out there.
