It seems we have a number of Mac laptops using counterfeit power adapters.

Will probably make a script and daemon to sit there and detect when people have plugged in and record the serial number of the plugged in power adapters so we can grab that info and let users know if they have a potentially unsafe power adapter.

I was curious if others are seeing counterfit MagSafe power adapters in their fleets as well, because I wanted to get a more comprehensive list of "fake" serial numbers to test for – would be great for you to share fake serials if you have them.

The counterfeit serial I am seeing consistently is (in hex): 0x0014efe8

Just picking this up with: system_profiler SPPowerDataType | grep "Serial Number: 0x"

Thanks!

You could always just create an Extension Attribute with a Smart Group attached.
