Difference between Staff and Instructors Apple School Manager SFTP upload

Instructors can be assigned to teach classes and a staff member can not.

However, I did not know Apple made it possible to add staff members through an import. The last time I looked you could not do this. It was a large complain to Apple, they added the staff category but no may to get users into the category through an import.

I love it when they make changes and don't tell anyone. I will have to look into this some more.

The confusing part is that the "Staff" spreadsheet, if you are doing the manual upload, actually contains the instructors and places them into the Instructor role and not the Staff role.
