The distribution point is successfully mounting while running Casper Admin on the JSS server, however, while installing the software i.e. Ms Office 2016, VLC player and printer driver, the installation fails with error couldn't mount distribution point.

Try doing a cd /Volumes and ls to see if there's an instance of the share mounted. I've seen cases where the share mounts and fails to unmount when a policy finishes, causing future installs to fail.

@bb4120 I can only see MacintoshHD and nothing else. I am installing the softwares straightaway rather caching and then installing.

Had you ever tried to mount the distribution point directly on the clients machine with casperinstall credentials?

It's quite possible for the casperadmin account to have access and the casperinstall account to not as they have different levels of permissions. I would try as @ivanbs suggested and test mounting the share with the Casper install account manually. If that fails, it will probably be permissions related.

The other possibility is Kerberos tickets (if you're in a domain environment). I think the issue had been resolved in newer versions, but the Kerberos ticket used to authenticate the share before the credentials in the JSS had a chance to kick in.

You can test this by restarting, logging in with a local admin account (specifically not a domain admin account) and trying to run a policy that used the DP.
