I work at a newer school and we do not have much of a paper book based library as such. so now, teachers are starting to ask about ebooks.

Now i know with copyright laws here in Aus and i'm sure other places you cannot get ibooks/ebooks through Vpp like you do apps where we can pull and push the books as we wish.

I know we could just purchase the books and give them out and re-buy them each year but i also know there are companies that we can hire/pay to act as like an ebook library etc.

I should also note that not all students use an ipad or macbook pro. Is there an online way of viewing the ebooks?
I was wondering what other schools are doing in regards to ebooks?

Thank you

I recommend talking with the various textbook publishers you might currently be using. Each ahs a different set of eBook or eBook like materials that you might already have the right to download and use. We purchase books through Follett Books here and can discover electronic versions of textbooks for assignment and purchase as well. Unfortunately, this is a challenge for all in edu.
