We configured Restricted Software to block the Mavericks install. We are not receiving the email notifications concerning who attempted to run the install.

We have successfully tested the SMTP email test in the SMTP Server settings.

Any ideas on how to get the Restricted Software email notifications to work?

Stupid question, but are you sure your account/accounts are set up to receive emails on Restricted Software violations? That's a checkbox under your account in the Notifications section.

Also, how do you know you aren't getting them if you aren't... getting them? Do you mean you ran a test install attempt and didn't get an email?

Well, I filed this with JAMF yesterday. They confirmed it was a bug beginning in 8.6.2 and higher. Good news is it's fixed in 9.x.
We're running 8.6.4 and won't likely upgrade until ?9.2.
So, you're not crazy. I wasn't getting "Maverick" emails and I knew it was setup correctly.

We confirmed the email checkbox is checked in Account settings, we confirmed the restriction is working, our test Mac's received the popup, we will upgrade and go from there - thanks!

Am seeing this too in 8.72 where I don't get email notifications from restricted software. All notifications are properly set up and I get others from policy error, database backup etc. Did they say if they would fix it in v8?

@tommyday. They didn't say yes or no specifically, but I would not hold my breath on it for 8.x.
Doesn't mean they won't, but at least 9.x does.

We are running 8.73 and the only notification set that seems to work is Server Notifications and Policy Execution Errors from the Management section.

All the other email notifications are still broken.

We have no plans to upgrade to JSS 9, is 8.74 on the horizon?

8.73 here and the Restricted Software notifications are not working, though the other notifications work great.

Before upgrading to 8.73 from 8.62 ALL notifications were working properly. Now the only one that works is the test from Settings>General Settings>SMTP server>Send test message to....

I am running 8.73 and I am getting restricted software violation notices
smart group change notifications as expected, both mac and iOS
successful backups
policy execution errors

Just chipping in - running 8.73 here, and I get notifications for policy errors and smart group changes (thankfully) but not for restricted software violations. Haven't for a long time now.
