Recently, new packages I am trying to deploy error out with a log similar to this

/usr/sbin/jamf is version 8.43
Executing Policy iPhoto '11...
[STEP 1 of 1]
Downloading http://casper.natickps.org:80/CasperShare/Packages//iPhoto '11.dmg...
Error: Package not successfully downloaded: 2

I've re-created the symbolic link, but still no success, and it doesn't seem that is the issue, as other packages download fine.

Can someone help?

JSS is 8.43 on a 10.6.8 Xserve

Try distribution over AFP/SMB? I had the same error when distributing Xcode over HTTP and forcing AFP/SMB for that policy fixed it. Still not sure why...

Could it possibly be the ' in the package name?

Hi Jared.

How to you force an individual policy to use AFP/SMB instead of HTTP.

Regards Chris.

Chris,
In the policy's General tab, at the bottom is a disclosure triangle called, "Override Default Policy Settings" and there's a checkbox to, "Force Distribution Points to use AFP/SMB instead of HTTP"

If your DPs have HTTP/S enabled, they use it by default. This checkbox will revert it to AFP/SMB. (AFP vs SMB as defined in the server setup in the JSS - Settings -> Servers)
