We are using Microsoft Office 365 for our email service for faculty/staff and one of the issues we are having is when someone changes their password to log in every 90 days, if they don't update their password on their IOS device, it will lock out their account. I am hoping their is a way to sync active diectory/LDAP/SMTP with my JSS so when the user changes their password on their PC that it will sync to their iPad. Is there a way to do this?
I'd like to hear the solution for this as well
@cwi_it & @bbates iOS mail should prompt the user to update their passwords.
There is no way AFAIK to not use passwords or to keep using the old.
With Exchange On-Prem you could use cert based auth, but this is not an option on O365.
Yeah not possible that I am aware of. We have had to deal with this issue as a training issue. The vast majority of our users know that the day they change their passwords after the 90 day policy that they have to go into their email at the same time and change it there.
The only time it really is an issue is on an old device they threw into a drawer and then gave it to their kid or something to play with and never deleted their mail account.
