Hi

A a newbie this may be a daft question. Can Casper log if a USB drive has been attached to a mac, and if it can, can it then track what files are copied to or from the mac?

Thanks

John

Hi John,

There is a similar discussion here: https://jamfnation.jamfsoftware.com/discussion.html?id=13051

We have used Endpoint Protector (http://www.endpointprotector.com) to do this in the past.

I could be wrong but based on my previous research, it is not possible natively with Casper. As stated in some threads, Casper can control (allow/block) if USB ports can be used but doesn't offer any sort of logging. I am very much in need of a way to provide reporting on who has plugged in a USB Device, transferred files to/from it as well.

Here is an old thread on what someone has attempted: https://jamfnation.jamfsoftware.com/discussion.html?id=3689

We also use EPP (Endpoint Protector) and I very satisfied with its ability

@davidacland - I'm curious do y'all use the appliance or the virtual instance?

@Potter it's onsite with one of our clients on their virtual server system.
