Hi All,

Umbrella Roaming Client installation fails in Pre-stage enrollment stage with following error :

Installation failed. The installer reported: installer: This package requires Rosetta 2 to be installed.
Please install Rosetta 2 and then try again. `sudo softwareupdate --install-rosetta` installer: Error - Umbrella Roaming Client can’t be installed on this computer.

Do we need to deploy  Rosetta 2 on all machines ? Please advise

Depending on the software being deployed, the answer is maybe. Not all applications are native to the Apple Silicon/M1 architecture and installing Rosetta is probably a good idea unless your users are admins, or you have validated all software is either Universal or the native ARM installer. The Umbrella client is part of Cisco's AnyConnect if I'm not mistaken – you'll need to be on AnyConnect v4.10.2086 or later for native support, and there's a newer release for Macs running macOS Monterey.

Yah we have Rosetta 2 install first on M1 machines via a trigger then the other apps after that and it's been flawless so far with AnyConnect.  Our users and Helpdesk Team don't even know it's magically happening in the background.
