I've been searching all over for info on this - is there any way to turn on the Bonjour instant messaging inside the Messages app in OS X via policy? There doesn't seem to be a man page for Messages, and I can't see any specific way of doing it remotely or via policy. Is it going to require something like creating a snapshot? Or maybe just modifying a plist file?

Sorry I'm new to Casper, still trying to get the millions of things configured, and not familiar enough with everything to instinctively know how to get something like this done.

What I would do:
1. Open Composer
1. Monitor File System Changes
1. Make the change in Messages
1. Create Package Source
1. Scan through plists to try to find what changed

Once you pinpoint it, it's just a matter of using your method of choice to deploy the change (MCX, Profile, Script, etc).
