I have been trying to deploy the HP Print Essentials PKG. It is only about 225mb but it will not install on any Macs. I upload the PKG successfully. Then I go create a policy for it and assign it to the Macs that need it. It just stays in a pending state, never installs successful or shows any failures. Anyone have some assistance on that?

Can you try running it from the jamf binary? sudo jamf policy -id <<id>> -verbose. You should get more information about what is failing during the policy.

HP is still bundling in a kext with their installer. I believe you have to whitelist the kext to allow the installer to complete successfully. (I think it pauses at a certain point to allow a user to approve the kext, if the installer were run interactively. When you run the installer as a policy, it gets hung up at that point.)

The kext did the trick. Once I got that profile created and deployed the HP software installed.
