Ideal battery capacity alerts?

OK, so I'm finding it pretty slick I'm notifying my users when they have hard disks that are almost full, and hard disks throwing Failing for SMART status. I now want to alert users when their battery capacity is diminished to the point that they should request a replacement from our helpdesk.

So my question to all of you out there is, what's considered bad or needs replacing for a Mac? We're all portables and expect to keep them in circulation for at least three years before retirement.

    300 charge cycles on Apple's removable batteries is considered "Consumed."
    That number is a 1000 charge cycles for the sealed batteries in the newer
    portables. After hitting those numbers, your battery's capacity diminishes
    greatly from there.

    This can be done with scripts, dummy receipts, and once a day policies. Depending on what you want to do.

    What exactly do you want to do with batteries? I have scripts the
    output info to /var/log/battery.log already and you could have other
    casper policies parse those logs and perform certain actions to either
    the end user, you, or both or whatever.
