Hi all,

I am stuck since a few days on this issue and hope you can help me :

I have a Mac bound to AD and I cannot change the password of my session (in System Preferences / Users and groups ).

I always get this error :

Is there a specific configuration to do on AD side to accept password change from MAC devices ?

In complement, I have FileVault 2 enabled, but it was not working also with FileVault 2 disabled.

Thanks for your help,
Jerome

@j.chowwingbom You'd have to ask the domain admins for the password policy.

They can put limits on characters as well as password change frequency & time between password changes.

Thanks for your feedback @bentoms

But when I tried to do the same change on a Windows workstation ( I tried the same new password I wanted to use on my MAC) it worked perfectly. No issues.

I respect the password policy and change frequency.

There may be a password policy tied to group policy for that Windows workstation. It's worth asking your GPO or AD admins.
